Copper Proper, the bricks & mortar store, is located in the historic mining town of Copperopolis, California, in the New Town Square. Copperopolis sits conveniently along Highway 4 in the central Sierra Nevada foothills of Calaveras County, 120-miles east of San Francisco. Mark Twain wrote his famous story "The jumping frog of Calaveras County" here, and both Black Bart and Juaquin Murrieta were known to have passed through the area in the 1800’s. Along with gold, Calaveras County also became a major supplier of copper to the U.S. government during and after the Civil War. Our name has celebrated that history since we opened Copper Proper for business in May 2005.

ORDERS FROM CANADA, AUSTRALIA OR WESTERN EUROPE are processed and paid securely through PayPal by credit card (or directly from your PayPal account). Please email us with your questions or the details of what you wish to order, your ship to address and your phone number. We will respond to you quickly with the PayPal Invoice including shipping and delivery details so you can make your final decision. A FEW WORDS ABOUT SHIPPING COSTS: We ship via the Post Office for international shipments in order to minimize your cost. Even so, it is expensive to ship goods from one country to another - especially if you are buying only a few items. If you want only a few items and can find a local partner (or two) who also wants to shop Copper Proper, you can save in shipping costs by consolidating your orders into one order and one package for substantial savings.
